Social Networking

Social networking has many positive points. Also many negative points.

Social networking can help family's that live far away in touch, help fans keep up to date with what their favorite celebrity's are up to and also social networking can help you make new friends.Social networking is a fast and easy way to communicate with others that live far away, possibly the other side of the world or even the next town.

however social networking can also be used by employers to check up on their staff, bully's to bully people and stalkers to well stalk people. Also it can be confusing at first, however most social networking sites can be picked up easy.

Social networking is able to change relationships dramatically. It can cause troubles in friendships or relationships between a couple. However it can also improve peoples relationships. someone can realise they really like someone just by talking to them over social networking as well as in person and get together with them.

I asked some people what they thought about social networking, here is what they said:
Lilly(who is a friend) said she thinks that its good for making friends, however you cant be sure who you are talking to is 'legit'
Mary(who is a friend) said she thinks social networking is good because it gives you almost instant access to a conversation with your friends.
Kieran(a friend) said he thinks social networking is bad as anyone can access information about you or talk to you.
NON53N53(from twitter)said sometimes it's too involved &busy.
RichieD_ (from twitter)said Social Networking is a place where u can try on new friends. without any commitment.
yamerias(from twitter) said social networking is a good and bad thing...good for meeting new friends, but some nasty people there too sadly...

Printing

A  negative mono-print of a dried lemon slice.
Positive mono-print by myself of a dried lemon slice.

Recently we have done various types of print. Sun prints(see previous post on the print and publishing with james page, im not entierlly sure how to add this post to there.), rubbings which are a simple process, you find something slightly 3d or textured and use wax crayon, pencil or pastels. Rubbings are a simple way to get a copy of something. We have also done mono printing. Mono printing is a process where you do one print(hence the mono part of the name) you ink up a plate(normally perspex or plastic) and place a clean plain piece of paper on top of the inked up plate. On the back of the paper(the side facing you) you draw the design you would like to be printed. Draw your design but try not to touch the paper unnecessarily! every touch shows up on the print. If you want to add shading you can use your fingers, gently brush them across the paper, the lighter or harder you touch the paper the darker/lighter the tone.

When doing mono prints you also may be able to do negative mono prints. once you have printed your positive do not ink over the plate.take your plate over to a press. place your plate on top of a piece of paper)scrap) and place a clean sheet of paper on top. then roll the press over the plate and paper. This will result in a negative print.

We also did relief printing. this is where you ink up 3d\textured objects and simply press the inked up object on the paper.

Soon i will be doing my  dry point print. expect interesting results.

SQUEEEEEK

Tried to follow katy's blog but followed my own accdently! Whoops. How do i unfollow myself?!

has got a bit gadget obsessed on blogger to :O hope it doesnt affect my grade. does it??

Our lesson with james!

Yesterday we had our first printmaking session. I have done printmaking before so I found this fairy easy. We did relief printing which is where you put ink onto a slightly 3d object, then place the object onto the paper, and the object prints. This can get messy! We also did mono printing which is where you roller ink onto a plastic sheet and then you place a piece of paper onto the sheet and draw on top.

Today we had a lesson with James(publishing). We did some 'sun prints'. Sun prints are where you use light sensitive paper. You place objects on the light sensitive paper, then place the paper in the sun. This activates the 'print' process as the sunlight bleaches the paper except where your objects are.

Watch out for a blog post on how my sun prints turned out (in my opinion)

First blogger blog

Hi my name is Shanna, I am going to tell you what I think a blog is and lots more juicy stuff.

A blog is basically a online diary, I already have a word press blog (http://shannabarnarna.wordpress.com/ ) so i have some experience of blogging. In my word press blog i mainly write about what has been going on,what happened that day and any other pointless information I can think of.

Lots of people use blogs,People use blogs for reviews, for A diary substitute thats online, news updates, and for lots of other reasons.

personally I think blogs can be very useful.you can read decent reviews that are not to tecncallised (is that a word)
you can find out whats new in the world of music and films and you can just be updated on things in general.

The video above is the assumption song.I have included this video because I like the song.I also like the simple animation that is used.(warning contains swearwords.)
